With Gospel out
of the Ghetto We visited the young adult gospel choir Voices of Destiny in Compton, CA. Wonderful music, passionating stories. A documentary on four young people from Los Angeles, growing up in an environment where you have to choose between gang life (Compton is notorious for gang violence and gangsta rap) or church life - there seems to be not much in between. Our protagonists chose their church choir - and came to win the national gospel contest 2010, traveling all through the States including Washington, DC. Now they feel they can do everything! Broadcast on arte 28th august 2013, the 50th anniversary of the march on Washington, at 7:30 pm.
